Big News!!
Just a little whisper of the big news for now! Scrapbook City will very soon be digital and hybrid scrapping friendly! There are some big changes happening in our neck of the woods and we are all very excited so stay tuned to hear the updates on this front!
Layout of the Week
Welcome to another layout of the week! This week we are featuring a great way to do a birthday page using the great KI Memories lace cardstock. This is a really simple layout, but because of the decorative nature of the cardstock looks stunning with its detail! You can find the lace cardstock in the Pop Culture section in the shop.

Materials:
Photos - 1 4"x6" portrait (with white border or matted on white cardstock), plus photo strip with 3 1.5"x 2" photos (border is about 1/8 " )
Bazzill cardstock
KI Memories lace cardstock - Black Hopscotch
Creative Cafe Chipboard accents
Kindy Glitz
Heidi Swapp Lemonade Stand chipboard alphas
Making Memories paint - Capri
Directions:
1. Use the Kindy Glitz to "colour in" the number which you wish to feature on the lace cardstock.
2. Once dry secure lace cardstock to bazzill background.
3. Place the 4"x6" photo on bottom left hand corner, about 1/2" from bottom of page and about 2" from left hand edge.
4. Overlap strip of photos along left side of larger photo at a slight angle.
5. Choose a title to fit on your chipboard accents, and paint title.
6. Once paint is dry secure to your chipboard, allowing parts of letters to overhang if necessary.
7. Add title to page along bottom right side of larger photo.
8. Add other chipboard accents to top right corner of larger photo and near title as desired.

Come One Come All!
Scrapbook City is holding its first Cyber Crop for 2008 this week on Thursday 21st February!! So make sure the calendar is clear so you can come and join in some fun games and scrapping challenges with plenty of prizes too! You can read more about the cyber crop here.
More New Lines....
As promised here are some more new lines from CHA Winter 2008.
Firstly lets look at Basic Grey! I am really quite excited about these lines, they look pretty versatile and in some great colours too!

I have to say the "Archaic" collection appeals to me, but not as a boy range! My daughter (all of 7) loves dinosaurs and has for a while, so I think I will be using this one to scrap her!!
We have already shown the show stopper for Making Memories, but that is not all they had on offer. They have some gorgeous new collections and additions to the Noteworthy range.

Well, thats it for today's peaks, make sure you keep looking back at the shop to see when the new collections will be arriving. There is even a place for you to start pre-ordering so you don't miss out in the rush to get the new products!

Heidi Grace
I don't know about you, but I love the Heidi Grace lines that were released last year. There was so much versatility and variety and this year looks like it will live up to this too.
Again there are flocked, shimmer and foiled papers, along with boxed sets of chipboard alphabets and shapes. Sounds cool, doesn't it?! Check out the pictures to get a bit of an idea of whats in store!

Some great looking colours there! I love the look of the collection with the blues and oranges.
Keep checking back, I will add in some more peaks soon!

Exciting Peaks from Winter CHA 2008
This week, we have decided to do things a little differently. We thought we would skip the usual "Layout of the Week" so we could bring you some great peaks straight from CHA! I will do several smaller posts here to make it easier to keep it separate.
I think so far from what Leisa and Kerri have shared with us, the most exciting thing for me is the Making Memories hand held electronic cutter! Sounds intriguing doesn't it?! Well, we have some video footage of this new little tool in action, and all I can say is "pick me, pick me"!!!
Just a little note, be patient with the video! It takes a little while to download the file to play.

4. Place the spotty square in its position just underneath the red rse paper, place the blue 1" strip, orange 2cm strip slightly underneath photos.
5. Place the light green strip at the bottom of the red paper and meeting up with the green spotty paper.
6. Adhere all the paper and photographs to the page and adhere dark blue 1/2" strip to the top of the photos overlapping part of the photos and part of the red paper.
7. Using shimmer alphabet create title under photos. Add butterfly to the right of the title and slightly overlapping photos.

8. Fasten beaded flower brads at top of page in the middle.
9. draw a circle around the inside edge of the bazzill using a large circle template (eg dinner plate)
10. Use the single row Cutterbee Bug to make stitching holes in the cardstock along the circle lines and stitch a simple running stitch to complete the circle.

How exciting, to be able to share with you what Leisa and Kerri are seeing while they search for great new products over in the US at the huge CHA. Now lets just cross our fingers and hope that this all works! OK, lets try.....

Another Week Flies By...
I don't know about you, but that week certainly flew by! Kids back to school, back to old routines, there was very little time for anything else! Anyway time always marches on and now Leisa and Kerri are counting down the days until they head off to the USA to check out the new products at CHA! That will be very exciting, and to celebrate what they find on their return will be a CHA Disney night at the store. Monday 18th February, 7pm is where you need to be to see some first hand samples of the new releases and have a chance to score some of these too! Numbers are limited so make sure you ring a book your place as early as possible, as of yesterday it was already half booked!
We are also getting ready to launch into the new years scrapping challenges. There was one posted last week to help get the juices flowing, but next week will launch the regular challenges for fun and prizes, so make sure you tune into that. I will be sure to link to the challenges from here also so they are easy to find.
We have a new blog page linked to here that will show all our up and coming classes. We have many classes coming over the next few months and new ones are being worked on all the time. We are also organising the expansion of our on-line classes. So keep a look out for these.
Check out our Blog Gallery to see some great new projects and layouts with some of our great new products too.
And our big reverse auction for the Cricut has come to an end, as soon as I have found out the winners name I will let you know!
